In a previous filing, Turner-Smith told the court, “I consistently prioritize Juno’s best interests and appreciate Josh’s input as her father. Since March 2025, I have responded to Josh’s questions on this issue and have remained available to meet and donate about the school’s choice for Juno, to resolve this issue various with Josh.” ”” ”” ””
“However, despite my outreach and goodwill efforts, Josh eventually opposed Juno’s registration in (the school),” said the actress. “Besides, through Counsel I have repeatedly made efforts to coordinate a secular summer and collapse schedule with Josh to accommodate both of our work schedules in prioritizing consistency and often contacting the two parents for Juno.”

In his new proposal, Jackson denied that he was the one in the wrong. He said the deal they reached clearly stated that they had to talk to each other before Turner-Smith made a final decision.
Jackson said Turner-Smith designated a new school “out of the blue” without consulting it. He said the schools he chose is far from his rent home, where he stays after his home burned down in the wildfires of Los Angeles.
“Jodie has not won the right to choose schools under the terms of the orders, because she failed to participate in sincere efforts to meet and give.”
He said the school he chose is not within a reliable 45 minute commute on school mornings either from his permanent home or rent.
“By not (meeting in advance) with Josh to make the (decision), and by choosing a school that cannot be reliably reached from one of Josh’s home locations with the necessary 45 -minute commuting, Jodie has forfeited the provision that allows her to make a school choice,” argued a lawyer Jackson.

The two have not yet worked out an agreement on the custody for the the rest of the year.
In Emotional letter Turner-Smith wrote to Jackson in May, obtained by UsHe argued the importance of spending time with Juno and a black mother’s relationship in the life of a biracial child.
He said, “Before Juno was born, you and I spoke extensively about what she would need to grow to be a strong, self-assured young person.”
Turner-Smith continued, “The consistency of research shows that that connection is not peripheral to biracial children, especially with a basic black mother. It plays a vital role in forming identity, emotional resilience, and long-term psychological well-being.”
In response, Jackson told his ex, “I do not think it is good for Juno to go as long as you have offered without seeing either parent, whenever it is reasonable for us to avoid without putting excessive stress on Juno,” he responded.
He added, “I think making the most of frequent, persistent and meaningful contact should be leading light throughout all of these conversations and planning parenting time. Juno needs both of us.
Jackson said he had educated himself on the issue of biracial children and their mothers. “I’ve read some articles about this, but I’m always ready to educate myself further if you can send me some links or quotes,” he said.
