Jon Lewis has abandoned the leading coach of the Feminine Cricket team in England on Friday (March 21). Jon Lewis had been in office since November 2022 and guided the women of England to 52 wins in 73 parties between international formats.
Its resignation took place as a result of the disappointing performance of the female cricket team in England at the ICC’s World Cup and female ashes Australia. Under Lewis’s leadership, they went to second place in the ICC ranking for both Cricket T20i and hate.
Before becoming a female coach in England, Lewis worked as an elite bowling coach of the Cricket Board of England and Wales (ECB), helping the Men’s Cricket team in England. Previously, he trained the young Lions and was part of the technical staff of Sussex.
As a player, he had a 19 -year -old race, making more than 1,200 doctors for Gloucestershire, Surrey and Sussex. He also played 15 international games for England. The ECB said they will soon share updates from the new main coach for the women’s team.

Jon Lewis said in an official ECB statement: “I really enjoyed my time as a coach of the women in England. Unfortunately, I will not be able to finish this incredibly difficult but pleasant job to develop this young team while I win and grow the women’s game in this country.”
Lewis added: “I have worked tirelessly with this group of young players to develop their skills and understanding of the current white ball cricket, although it is still going well in 2024, winning 83% of all our games. I am proud I am part of their trips.”

Richard Gould stated: “Jon has given his entire female cricket in England, as well as for the parties of the men and the young Lions before. We are very grateful and we wish -the best for the future.”
On the other hand, the ECB’s CEO, Clare Connor, acknowledged Lewis’s efforts as coach of women in England, especially in guiding the team through a challenging phase after pandemic. Under his orientation, England interpreted an exciting cricket brand, drawing female ashes of 2023 and achieving eight consecutive hatred series Earn.
Connor admitted that the team’s recent performances were disappointing, but said that the coach left the team after creating a strong talent pool for the women’s team.
