The greatest nation in the history of the world has just passed four years devastating inflationa wide-open border, failure on the global stage, rising crime, a rejection of common sense and a steady diet of radical ideology. But six weeks ago, the American people boldly announced that we had had enough. Seventy-seven million voters gave President-elect Donald Trump a landslide political victory. He won the popular vote, carried every state, and was given an undisputed mandate to restore America to strength and prosperity.
Republicans also gained control of both houses of Congress to help President Trump implement his “America First” agenda from day one. Terrible failures President Joe BidenVice President Kamala Harris, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi must be dealt with immediately.
The American people cannot afford to wait for relief when their lives and livelihoods are at stake. As the leadership of the Republican Party in Congress, we have prepared an aggressive plan to remove any obstacles and provide a path for President Trump’s reforms and programs. He will use his executive power to quickly address many of the crises left by the Biden administration, but President Trump’s legacy and transformational changes must be enshrined by Congress.
TRUMP GIVES JOHNSON ‘FULL AND FULL SUPPORT’ AHEAD OF SPEAKER FIGHT
With a single legislative powerwe will begin as soon as the 119th Congress begins. Last year, as media pundits scoffed at the idea of a Republican-controlled Washington, House Republicans braced for the possibility. We have taken the lead in crafting legislative solutions to end the border disaster, restore American energy dominance, lower taxes for families and job creators, and restore common sense. And during the election cycle, we explained how our principles and ideas could help President Trump turn the country around.
To realize this vision, we must remain united. Despite its popularity Pre-election promises of President-elect Trumpthe democrats in congress will do everything they can to stop us. Every important decision will require the unanimity of Republicans in the House of Representatives. We have neither time nor votes.
President Trump’s return to D.C. in 2025 will be very different from his first visit in 2017, and the landscape is much different now than it was eight years ago.

Republicans in Congress have campaigned on President Trump’s “America First” agenda, cabinet picks and transition operations are backed by the people, world leaders and even former political opponents are welcoming him back to office, and House leaders have been on the job for months with President Trump’s team to ensure that we firmly follow the policy prescriptions necessary to pull America back from the brink.
Consider the budget reconciliation process as evidence. In 2017, Republicans in Congress were deeply divided over the size and scope of the legislation. The lack of proper planning limited the President’s ability to carry out his tasks. This time, we’ve developed an agenda full of ideas that most Americans across the country already support. The only thing standing in the way of legislative success is Congress itself.
Through reconciliation, we will work to ensure that President Trump has every available resource to make a difference deadly surge of illegals who invaded our country and wreaked havoc in our communities. We will prevent the largest tax increase in US history. We will revive the economy and reduce the inflation of Bidenomics. We will restore America’s energy dominance and dismantle the destructive New Green Deal. And we will reduce the size and scope of government and make it more efficient and accountable again.
There is good reason for palpable excitement and a sense of renewed hope in the country. The American people are ready to stop losing and start winning again, and now is the time.
