“When I was younger and I was living a more chaotic life – I can’t say I had a lot of stability in my life – but when I lived the more chaotic existence when I was younger and I didn’t necessarily need any kind of structure or order or rhythm in my life, it didn’t necessarily bother me,” he explained. “But when I’m at home, when I’m not filming, when I do my real life thing alone, I have a very structured existence. So it’s hard to check out of that, check out of that, and then go back to sleep in a bunk bed and eat, catering and… set your mind to the fullest and be exactly the kind of isolated from the outside world.”
When he’s not competing on The challengeDevenanzio’s fitness and training is a priority as it owns a boxing studio in Florida.
“Basically, I have to train on a daily basis. It’s a business. I’m the face of the place, so I have to stay in shape just for that,” he said. “But I always say if you stay ready, you don’t have to prepare and that’s exactly how I’ve always been. I really credited the challenge to keep me in shape, because I had to give twice as much work to get the same output as I used to.”
