Katie reshared Madeline’s post via her Instagram Stories Sunday and wrote, “Truly speechless.” She also redistributed a mail of the North American Hockey League team the Philadelphia Rebels celebrate the arrival of baby Tripp. (Mathew, who was 29, was the team’s former assistant coach.)
“Tripp Matthew 🤍🦋,” Madeline wrote via Instagram on Sunday, welcome the new born. “Mother and Father’s World.” The post included a snap of Madeline holding the newborn’s tiny hand, alongside a small sign that read, “He’s here.” She also tagged Matthew in the post.

Matthew and his brother, NHL star Johnny (who was 31), hit them and kill them by a suspected drunk driver while cycling near their hometown in New Jersey on August 29, just a day before Katie’s arranged marriage. The brothers were expected to be groomsmen at the ceremony.
According to Katie’s wedding website, she and her fiance, Wizard Joyceit will be now tie the knot on July 11, 2025in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

“That day,” Katie wrote via Instagram on September 5. “In the middle of getting ready for the best day of my life, the unthinkable happens that will change my life forever. I remember a week ago being in the hotel sitting with the family and texting Devin about how we forgot to practice our dip. To think that was our biggest concern at the moment when our lives in just a moment and a phone call later would change forever.”

In September, Katie revealed she had honored her brothers with a new engraving on her wedding band. “Forever with me now. J & M,” Katie wrote via Instagram Story on September 7, sharing a photo of the band with the initials Johnny and Matthew.
Johnny and Matthew are also survived by another sister, Kristen Venellotheir parents, Guy a JaneJohnny’s wife Meredithand Johnny and Meredith’s two children, Noah, 2, and Johnny, 10 months. (Meredith revealed in September that she was pregnant with the couple’s third child.)
