The legend of John looks back at his friendship – and falls – with a rapper covered Kanye West.
In an interview with The Times Saturday, May 10, announced that Legend said West was a different person when the pair met in the early 2000s.
“Back then Kanye was very passionate, very talented, and had great dreams not only for himself but also to all the people around him,” he explained. “He had so much optimism, so much creativity. He feels sad, sometimes shocked, to see where he is now.”
The legend was friends with West during the release of his landmark album Dropou collegep. “Kanye blew up after producing Jay-Z album The blueprint In 2001, ”he said.“ Then he experienced a thrill as a solo artist and all the time I was traveling with him, making shows with him, getting exposure not only as his singer and keyboard player but also as an artist myself. I had been rejected by labels everywhere. “
The attention on the west rubbed on a legend in a good way. “Then Drop the college Having sold 400,000 copies in its first week, everyone wanted to know what was happening in our camp, and all those people who turned me down decided that my music sounded much better than it did the first time, ”added Legend.
The singer “all of me” highlighted a great loss in West life as a turning point to his former. When asked why West is so different now, Legend replied, “I do not think we were eligible for psychiletration, but after his mother passed in 2007 there was a difference. It was definitely. It started at that time and it seems to have accelerated recently.”
West has made headlines in recent years for antisemitic comments and behavior and for her ongoing custody saga with ex-wife Kim Kardashian. On April 30, the rapper went on a live stream where he spoke of failing to see the four children of the pair, north, 11, saints, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 5.
“(DJ) Akademiks puts that battery in my back, bro. ‘ Because I was at the airport on my own … I’ve had these kids, man! ”The rapper said, by video of Hollywood unlocked. “I’m going to get these children, bro. I’m talking to the lawyers – it gets to the point where I don’t lose my mind f *** ing where I had to get used to not seeing my children.”
Previously, West compared the dynamics with a “visit” in “prison.”
“I don’t just want to ‘see’ my kids. I need to pick them up. I need to say that from dressing (sic) they go to school and who are their friends and whatever (sic) houses they sleep over the weather (sic) my girls wear lipstick and perfume,” he wrote in a deleted post since March. “All of these rights have been taken from me by the Kardashian Mob Hulu and Disney and the larger agenda to use the black children who were selectively reared to be platforms to influence black people.”
