The golf cart accident consisting of NFL celebrity hall John ELWAY That took the life of his friend and his former, Jeff SperbeckIt seems to be a “horrific accident.”
Elway, 64 was Driving the golf cart in La Quinta, California on Saturday, April 26When Sperbeck, 62, fell away and suffered traumatic head injuries. It was announced to be dead on Wednesday, April 30.
Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco have said Post Denver On Friday, May 2 did not need to have law enforcement being linked to “nothing we have found”.
“This seems to be a horrific accident,” said Bianco. “And unfortunately for all participants, one of the people, a couple of them-happens to be very high profile celebrities. And that makes this more problematic than it should probably be.”
Elway was responsible for calling 911 after the incident, but first responders did not contact the Sheriff’s Division until days later. Bianco explained that the department only took their way after a “massive media investigation” after revealing that Elway was involved.
“It’s common practice for medical personnel, whether it’s ambulance personnel or hospital personnel or even fire personnel, calling us after an accident location because something doesn’t look right,” explains Bianco. “And this wasn’t the case.”
Bianco said that on the spot medical personnel found no evidence to indicate that Elway was drunk, although he stopped explaining how they came to that conclusion. It is not clear and administered a Breathalyzer test to Elway.
The golf cart which was part of the action showed no signs of malfunction, according to Bianco.
Bianco acknowledged that an investigation into the death of Sperbeck was underway, but anticipated it would be “relatively short.”
“We do everything we can to make sure this is what it seems to be, and an accident only,” Bianco concluded.
In the midst of the investigation, ELWAY has stated Secured attorney services from Denver Harvey Steinbergwhose previous clients include former -denver Broncos as By Miller and Jerry jeudy.
Elway won two Super Bowl during a 16-year NFL career, each with the Broncos between 1983 and 1998. He later served as general manager and executive vice president of the team before transferring to a consultant role. Elway’s time with the Broncos Foundation ended in 2023.
The quarterback break his silence regarding the death of Sterbeck on Wednesday.
“I am completely humbled and encouraged by passing my close friend, business partner and agent Jeff Sperbeck,” said ELWAY. “There are no words to express the intense sadness I suddenly feel with the sudden loss of someone who has meant so much to me.”
He continued, “My heart and deepest sympathy go out to Jeff’s wife, Cori; his children Carly, Sam and Jackson; and all who knew him and loved him.
Sperbeck began working as an ELWAY agent in 1990, about seven years into the NFL ELWAY career, and the pair would go on to become friends and business partners away from the football field, remembering their wine brand, 7cellars, in 2015.
