Joao Pedro insists that there is no feeling of competition with striker’s companion Liam Delap after the two players found the network when Chelsea stepped on AC Milan 4-1 on the Stamford bridge.
In the Final of the Blues preseason before starting his Premier League campaign against Crystal Palace next Sunday, a goal by Andrei Couubis, followed by a head of Pedro and Delap Brace assured that the side of Enzo Maresca won comfortable winners of his A -series opponents.
The Italian club, which was reduced to ten men in the first half, rarely threatened the Fund of the Chelsea, but scored a goal through Youssouf Fofana.
Pedro, who signed the Chelsea of Brighton for £ 60 million during the Club World Cup in July and which he scored in the final against PSG, has been impressed since the arrival.
The young man, 23, has five goals in his last five games, including two at the house of Bayer Leverkusen and Milan.
“I’m really happy to score at Stamford Bridge,” Pedro told Channel 5 after the game against Rossoneri. “I enjoyed this preseason. Two games, two goals.
“Now we have to rest and start well at the Premier League.”
Pedro added that despite the interest of several clubs, it was an easy decision when Chelsea came to call.
“As I said when I came, Chelsea has a bright team,” he said.
“A young team, so it made it easy for me to come and do my best with them.”
The striker arrived shortly after Delap joined Ipswich Town for £ 30 million in June. But Brazil International was rushed to rule out any sense of rivalry between the two.
He added: “I do not mean competition. It is very good for Chelsea to have both forwards to a good level.
“The last game, he (Delap) did not score, but today he has scored two and I am very happy for him.”
The men of Maresca start their season of the Premier League with the visit of Crystal Palace on Sunday, August 17 (14:00 BST / 09:00 ET / 06:00 PT).
