Jessica Simpson thanks to their guitar player Stanton Edward After a challenge first television performance in 15 years.
“Had a blast with @jessicasimpson at the @americanidol season’s finale,” the guitar player from Nashville set Instagramshire on Tuesday, May 20. Simpson, 44, shared the post, adding a sweet message.
“Thanks @stantonedward because the Lord knew I wouldn’t have caught my cool without you !!!” Simpson wrote through Instagram Stories on Tuesday.
Simpson took the stage during the American Idol Finishing Season 23 on Sunday, May 18, singing her new song “Blame Me” and her iconic contribution from “These shoes are made for Walkin,” originally released in 2005.
American Idol host Ryan Seacrest Sunday’s performance was confirmed was Simpson’s first “appearance” in 15 years. Took the stage alongside former season -competitor 23 Josh Kingwhich was eliminated earlier in the season.
Simpson admitted to him have some big nerves before taking the stage.
“Oh, my God, I was dying,” said the singer Extra On Monday, May 19. “I can’t even tell you how long it has been since I was so nervous. As, I had to put a hair spray on my feet to stand still, so, not that it actually kept me, but, like, my feet were sweating. I’m like, ‘my feet are not sweating.’
He continued: “I still said to myself, ‘Don’t cry. Don’t cry. I know this is a big moment … don’t cry.’ And then I see my dad (Joe Simpson), like, up in the corner and I’m like, ah, I’m going to weep.
During the same interview, Simpson acknowledged that 15 years was a “very long time” to take a break from television.
“Last time was a Christmas song, so that’s easy,” he added, explaining why it was the perfect moment for her to return to a stage on television.
“So this is my new EP Nashville Canyon, pp. 1I mean, Pt. 2 Coming in the summer, but it’s so much a part of my soul, and so to sing a song away from that I felt naked, ”he explained.” To be honest, he was very bald and raw and vulnerable. “
Simpson returned to music with release Nashville Canyon, pp. 1 in March. That one month, she appeared on stage for her return to live music after 15 years, performing at the Austin Chapter Block Party of the Record Academy during SXSW in Austin, Texas.
