A lawyer Alex Spiro claims that a number of people are prepared to come forward to address the supposed inconsistencies in the rape allegation made against Jay-Z.

“There are dozens and dozens of people who are going to say there was no party at the ‘white house’,” Spiro told Us Weekly and other reporters during a press roundtable on Monday, December 16, at the Roc Nation offices in New York City.

Spiro was referring to the alleged location where the unnamed woman, referred to as Jane Doe, claimed Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs raped her at an MTV Video Music Awards after party in 2000. According to Spiro, the home in question does not exist.

Earlier this month, Diddy and Jay-Z, both turned 55 named in a civil lawsuit where the woman accused the two rappers of raping her when she was 13. The lawsuit was initially filed in October with only Diddy named in the paperwork, but an attorney Tony Buzzbeewho represents a number of people who claim to be Diddy’s victims, re-filed the paperwork on December 8 to include Jay-Z in the suit.

Jay-Z’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, is setting the record straight on his client’s relationship with Sean “Diddy” Combs. “Mr. Carter has nothing to do with Mr. Combs than Mr. They knew each other professionally for a number of years,” Spiro told Us Weekly and other reporters during a press roundtable on Monday, December (…)

Jay-Z and Diddy have denied the allegations, as has the Roc Nation founder file a motion to dismiss the civil lawsuit.

On Monday, Spiro kicked off the roundtable by stating that Jay-Z had “never raped a child” before give a presentation that detailed alleged holes in the accuser’s story.

The woman came forward last week to acknowledge the discrepancies in her account but she stood by her claims. One of those inconsistencies is her description of the house where the incident allegedly took place. Buzbee and his team shared that they are trying to determine the location the woman described. Spiro, for his part, criticize Buzbee on Monday.

“You can see here now that this is starting to unravel and the truth is coming out, he’s starting to walk away from it,” Spiro claimed. “He says, ‘Oh, I’m sorry. This case was referred to our company by another company, so I didn’t really check it out.’ That’s basically what he said, right? He brings a charge like this, attacking a man with the integrity of Mr. Carter, and all he has to say for himself now is, ‘Well, I didn’t really try on this. I got a referral trying to make some money. So we went live with it.'”

Buzbee subsequently responded to Spiro’s comments in a statement to Us.

“This client was registered and referred to our firm by another law firm. That law firm drafted the initial complaint,” he said Monday. “However, four individuals in our company have also interviewed the client and checked the details after receiving the referral. A background check was carried out on the client. We also hired an experienced researcher to vet some of the details she revealed to us. Those results were consistent with what the client had told us.”

Buzbee continued: “A letter was sent to Mr. Carter and offered to sit down to discuss the allegations in confidence. Rather than accept that offer, Mr. Spiro chose to file a public lawsuit accusing me personally of extortion. He made that claim knowing that we were not asking for money at all and out in public. That case is completely frivolous. Furthermore: At least three lawyers from our firm interviewed the client before filing the amended complaint naming Mr. Carter. The client has also signed two separate affidavits. Our client remains adamant about his claim. Mr. Spiro tries to be a bully. But we won’t be bullied. Our behavior has been and will continue to be beyond reproach. We will pick up some of the behavior of our opponents in due course, which is extremely worrying.”
