Jasprit Bumrah responds to ‘advised bed rest at home’ claims for Champions Trophy participation

As the cricketing world gears up for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025concerns around the Indian pacer jasprit bumrah have risen following reports suggesting he has been advised bed rest due to ongoing back problems. The news has sparked discussions about his availability for the tournament, which starts on February 19.

Injury concern for Jasprit Bumrah

Bumrah’s injury problems have been a matter of concern ever since his impressive recent performances Border-Gavaskar Trophy v Australia. Despite bowling exceptionally well and claiming 32 wickets in the series, his workload seemed to take a toll on his fitness. According to various reports, Bumrah experienced swelling in his lower back, leading to recommendations from medical professionals for complete rest until the swelling subsides.

“Bumrah could go to the CoE next week, but there is no set date right now. He has been advised to rest in bed at home to help his muscles recover and reduce the swelling. Once that is done, it will be determined the future course of action.” a BCCI source said, according to TOI.

This statement underlined the seriousness of Bumrah’s condition and the cautious approach being taken by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
