An important controversy has arisen among the former Pakistan’s Red Ball Cricket Principle Jason Gillespie and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Regarding the complaints of unpaid salary after the abrupt departure of Gillespie in December 2024.
Jason Gillespie goes to PCB on unpaid quotas
Gillespie, who took on the role in April 2024, claims that the PCB still owes him a remuneration for his nine -month term. The PCB, however, has vehemently denied these claims, counterattack that Gillespie breached his contract and, in fact, is responsible for paying the Board. The dispute became public after Gillespie spoke with a local sports platform Geosuper, expressing his disappointment in the situation. “I am still waiting to be paid for the work I did. It’s a bit disappointing but I hope it will be resolved soon.” Gillespie stated, emphasizing that despite the financial disagreement, he has no bad will towards Pakistan’s cricket. The reports indicate that the Gillespie agent has contacted the PCB Human Resources Department to request the authorization of the outstanding amount.
Gillespie, an ex -Australian fast -papers, resigned only eight months in his role, as he said that he quoted differences with the advice and an unsustainable environment. He has been critical of the PCB’s internal policy and the performance of the temporary coach Aaqib javed Since its departure.
PCB responds to Gillespie’s allegations
In a strong refutation, the PCB dismissed Gillespie’s claims of unpaid quotas as baseless. The Council claims that the sudden resignation of Gillespie, without fulfilling the compulsory notice period of four months, is a clear breach of the agreement.
A spokesman for the PCB clarified the position of the advice to Cricket Pakistan: “If the PCB had finished Gillespie’s services, we would have been able to pay -the four -month salary. However, since he resigned without prior notice, he has to pay the board of four months of salary. Therefore, his claim of unpaid quotas is incorrect.” The spokesman added that the Gillespie agent had been informed that any pending payment would contain Gillespie fulfilling his contractual obligations.
Gillespie’s term was marked by disagreement with the PCB hierarchy and the dynamics of the internal team. Its resignation was just ahead of the Pakistan’s white ball tour in South Africa in December 2024. Since then, Gillespie has openly discussed his dissatisfaction with the circumstances that surround his departure and the PCB’s direction.
Public disagreement has attracted considerable attention within the world of cricket. Although Gillespie is still hopeful for a quick resolution, the PCB maintains its position that the two parties involved must respect the terms of the contract.
