U Masters of the Universe The film has found someone for Nicholas Galitzine beat: the Hollywood Reporter word has it that Jared Leto has signed on to play legendary He-Man Baddie Skeletor in Travis Knight’s long run on the beloved animated series/toy commercials.
Leto joins a slew of villainous casting announcements for the film to fill not only Skeletor himself, but a veritable host of the dark wizard’s friends. In addition to the previously announced Alison Brie as Evil-LynSkeletor’s second in command, Sam C. Wilson plays Trap Jaw, the cyborg warrior with a fearsome bite; Hafthor Bjornsson plays the Goat Man, a beastly subordinate of, well, Beast Man; and Kojo Attach will play Tri-Klops, the multi-eyed spymaster who uses his various visions to snoop on the Masters of the Universe for Skeletor.
It is a major boost to the evil side of Knight’s take on the world of Eternia, which has already been established. Riverdaleby Camilla Mendes and Idris Elba as two of Prince Adam’s closest allies, Teela and Man-at-Arms, respectively. But now we are perhaps more intrigued than what absurd method approach Leto gets to play a man with a skull for a head more than anything else Masters of the Universe could launch to us before its release date of June 5, 2026.
