Jamie otis Don’t understand why people have been “sensitized” to breastfeed.
“The size of the people who are offended by a breastfeeding mother will surprise me forever,” the Spouse at first sight Alum, 38, wrote via Instagram on Friday, May 23, side by side video of pumping (with a breast pump without hands) in her car. “A woman who feeds her baby – however she can – should be supported. No questions.”
Otis shares four children with a husband Doug hehnerincluding 8 -month -old boys -Hawkins Tyler and Huxley James-which she is currently feeding a combo. (They also have the daughter of Henley, 7, and her son Hendrix, 5.)
“Breastfeeding is the most natural and primitive way to look after your baby, yet I guarantee that I will get comments on how inappropriate it is to pump my breast milk out in the lifting car line or nursing my baby twins in public,” he continued. “And honestly, the reason that society feels so strongly about a woman who doesn’t breastfeed in front of people is BC they don’t see enough of it. A hundred years ago there would be no problem at all that BC is the only way to provide nutrients to your baby.”
Otis claimed that the increase in the popularity of the formula has contributed to how people see breastfeeding today, although it is “the most natural thing a woman’s body is done to do.”
“ Matter where I am. “But I think the only way we can change this stigma around breastfeeding is to normalize it publicly. So here I am, publicly showing my own social media page trying to do my bit to help uninstall the most primitive, natural way that her baby’s food mother can.”
He concluded: “I know some people will definitely come to me, but I think with my whole heart that a mother should be able to feed her baby anywhere and anyway – and shouldn’t be judged or shamed for her.
Otis was supported by a fellow in the comments section of her video post, which she is entitled, “Pumping my breast milk out by a car line rising … nothing to see here.”
“Amen! You’re doing amazing, Mama !!,” shared one initiator with another addition, “LOL. I use a cover but I breastfeed anywhere and everywhere.”
Otis met with hehner, 41, on season 1 of Mafs in 2014 after appearing as a competitor on season 16 of The bachelor In 2012. She has been open about her difficult journey for maternity, sharing her and Hehner’s experience with multiple mischiefs and losing their first child, Johnathan Edward, in 17 weeks in 2016.
“I’m a Labor and Deliver Nurse, so I’ve predicted the day of having my baby more than I had ever predicted getting married or anything,” Otis said during the 2019 chapter of their former “Hot Marriage Cool Parents”. “I would never, in my wildest dreams, have predicted that I would send a 17-week-old baby who went immediately to be in heaven. Not only went to heaven, but when we looked at it, he was formed perfectly-he had all the 10 fingers, all 10 fingers. And we couldn’t protect it.”
The couple has now been married for 11 years, with Otis write Through Instagram on Saturday, May 24, “There is no one I would rather live this life with. I love you, @doughehner! Thank you for being so loving, kind, and patient with me at all times.”
