Jamie, 38, and Doug, 41, welcome twinsHawkins Tyler and Huxley James, in September 2024. In a recent Q&A vlog shared via the YouTube channel “Hanging with the Hehners” on Friday, January 24, the couple got specific about how they tell the identical babies.
“There’s a couple of really good features,” Jamie said as he held Hawkins in his lap. “This little boy’s nose is the first thing. He’s got a little red spot there, and that’s our best identifier.”
Meanwhile, Doug noted that Huxley has “elvish” ears that “come to a point more than Hawkins,” while Jamie added that Hawkins’ ears are “a little rounder.” Huxley also has a red mark on the back of his leg.
“Those are the only ways we can differentiate them,” Jamie continued. “Especially because (Hawkins) is holding up nice and well. It was smaller for a long time but now it’s getting a little chubbier. Now his face is as round as Huxley’s, so it is very difficult to tell the difference between them. They are exactly the same.”

As for whether the couple is keen to expand their brood in the future, Doug is a firm “no” to having more children. Jamie, on the other hand, said, “It’s hard for me to say no.” But like, never say never.”
Doug admitted, “I mean anything can happen, but I’m not. I’m ‘no’ to no more children.” Jamie replied, “You were ‘no’ to four children and here we are with four.”
Jamie announced her latest pregnancy in February 2024, confirming she was expecting twins the following month.
“I’ve always wanted to be a mother of twins,” she said People in March 2024. “My sister and little brother are twins, but my mother said she would skip my generation and go to my children, so I never expected I would have twins!”
She added at the time that she and Hehner were “over the moon excited” but also “a bit scared.” Jamie has been open about her struggles with conception, previously suffering miscarriages in July 2016, September 2018 and January 2019. However, she spoke candidly about her fears during her pregnancy with the twins.
“The nerves with pregnancy after a loss are out of control. I try to keep myself calm and collected, but sometimes they get the best of me,” she wrote via Instagram last year. “Ultimately, I know I have no control and God is helm. I keep praying he blesses us with two healthy babies. 🙏🙏🙏
