James Milner signs the new Brighton Agreement, paving the way to make the Premier League history

James Milner was able to break the Premier League record after signing a 12 -month contract extension in Brighton.

The young man, 39, has played 638 games on English superior flight, second only in Gareth Barry (653).

Perhaps he has passed Everton’s former champion last season if he had not been for injuries to restrict him to only four appearances.

Milner’s influence extends to the pitch with Brighton’s head, Fabian Hurzeler, who was to talk about his importance in the locker room.

Hurzeler jumps Milner’s influence

Hurzeler told Brighton’s official website: “I am very pleased that we will have James with us again this season.

“Last season he could not help the team on the pitch as much as he liked, but around the squad his experience is invaluable, especially for the younger players.

“It’s a great guy to have our environment, which is always there for me and for the team. I want to work again with him.”

Milner started his career in Leeds before spells with Newcastle, Aston Villa, Manchester City and Liverpool before joining -S’Es in Brighton in 2023.
