James has doubts in England … while players relax with Love Island

England “does not know” if Lauren James will be suitable for the women’s 2025 final against Spain on Sunday after the Chelsea striker was retired in the middle of the victory of the semifinal over Italy with an ankle injury.

Four times the women’s Super League James has started the five games in England in Switzerland and is “doing things” on the training field, but “he is still recovering”, according to coach Sarina Wiegman.

“We have two more days, so let’s give it time,” said Wiegman. “We still do not know (if it will be ready), but this is what we will look for – 23 players available.”

Will Lauren James be in shape? Statistics, Objectives

James scored twice in England 4-0 wins over the Netherlands and contributed to a goal in the standings, and won a 2-0 victory in Ireland on April 9.

Between his nine goals in 33 heads, the 23-year-old scored the only goal against Denmark and twice in a 6-1 victory over China during the 2023 World Cup group stage, helping England to reach the final.

Arsenal’s Beth Meadwho was the tournament player when England won the 2022 edition, he is a potential candidate to replace James, as are Gunners’s fellows Chloe Kelly, scorers of the 119th minute winner against Azzurre-i Michelle Agemang, who equated in the 96th minute of regular time in this game.

England against Spain: “Some of us saw the island of love”

Esme Morgan has explained how some of the squad of England became the television of reality after his extravagantly dramatic victory in Geneva to establish a repetition of the World Cup decider 2023, which the Red won 1-0 in Sydney.

“Everyone celebrated with the stadium fans and with our families,” Morgan told Washington Spirit-Back Morgan Womenseuro.com.

“Some of us saw that Love Island ended before bed because it is very difficult to sleep after the excitement like that.

“But then in the following days, the approach has focused on recovery and now the training approach has moved to Spain and how we can prepare us to fulfill them.”

What time does the EURO 2025 women’s final start?

The final in Basel will begin at 17:00 BST, Hour of the United Kingdom, on Sunday, July 27, 2025.This is at 18:00 CET in Europe or at 12:00 p.m. and at 09:00 PT in the United States.

Morgan called it “strange” that England had managed to not “lose some hope”, with the route that marked the 90 minutes with Italy 1-0 ahead of the Final Four.

“It still had a belief that we would have a moment,” the 24 -year -old reflected. “I felt very quiet, strangely, and I was really confident that we will keep my impulse, keep pushing it until the end.

“Luckily, this happened and Michelle had an incredible finish to send us to an extra time.”

Kelly, who won the first rebound after the goal Laura Giuliani saved her penalty, said that Captain Leah Williamson told England that “he only needed a moment” to take time.

“While you are on the pitch, you always think you can make something happen,” he said. “Michelle got the ball on the back of the net, as it always does for us.”
