“We are doing our first small renovation ‘project’ on the new house and wondering what a fun thing to include the children in it,” Roper, 38, wrote through Instagram On Sunday, June 1, referring to the children of Emmy, 7, Brooks, 5, and Reed, 4. “Today, we’re ripping some wallpapers down and celebrating with a little chicken dance-banana !! Emmy has been asking us to do this dance for a while now and was extremely excited if you can’t.”

“Still not feeling real,” Roper wrote through Instagram at the time. “So many things had to fall into their place for this to happen, and I really feel at home here. As it always belongs to us. Who’s ready for the renewals? We have no idea what we’re doing.”
Tolbert replied, meanwhile, joking, “What do we do? I don’t even own equipment ⚒️ 🧰. “
Apparently the couple calculated how to repair the house by Sunday.
“We’re in the New House and we counted it wouldn’t be appropriate and fun to make our first little Reno project with the kids,” said Roper in an Instagram story video. “So what did we do, Emmy?”
Emmy turned in to indicate that they ripped “out wallpaper out” in the dining room.
“It was a lot of fun,” added Roper.
Initially, the dining area had a burgundy colored walls with molding the white crown around the ceiling and two round windows.
“The dining room is one of my favorite rooms in the whole house,” added Roper through her Instagram stories. “Can’t wait to make it ‘us.”
Roper and Tolbert moved back to his native Missouri of California in late 2024. At the time, they planned to build new properties from the floor up.
“We bought 10 acres. This is a dream being realized for me,” wrote Roper, who was from Nebraska, through Instagram In November 2024. “I was brought up in the country and I have so many fond memories of my childhood playing outside in nature and exploring with my brothers. Can’t wait to give our children this kind of childhood. We are so excited for this journey to build our ideal home.”
He revealed earlier this year that they had decided to sell the land and buy a home already built instead.
