Israeli’s safety office has approved a plan for expanding a military offensive against Hamas, which includes “westerne” and holding its territory, the Israeli official reports.
It is said that it also includes the movement of 2.1 million Palestinians to the South, which can worsen the humanitarian crisis.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called it a “good plan” because he reached the goals of victory over Hamas and return the rest of the hostages, the official said.
The Cabinet of Ministers also approved, in principle, a plan for the delivery and distribution of humanitarian aid through private companies that would have completed a two -month blockade, which said it caused a serious food deficit.
The UN and other assistance agencies said the proposal would be a violation of the basic humanitarian principles and that they will not cooperate.
Hamas said Israel’s proposal was “political blackmail”.
Prime Minister’s Security Cabinet Benjamin Netanyahu met on Sunday night to discuss Gaza’s offensive, which was restored when Israel ended on March 18 with a two-month ceasefire.
An Israeli official, who informed the media on Monday, said the ministers unanimously voted in favor of approving the plan proposed by the Chief of the Israeli soldier, who is occupied by the Gen Eyal Zamir to “defeat Hamas to Gaza and return the hostages.”
“The plan will include, among other things, the Western lanes and the conduct of the territories, the movement of the gas -south population for its defense, denying Hamas to the possibility of distributing humanitarian supplies and powerful attacks on Hamas,” the official said.
Israeli media reports that the plan will take months and that the first phase has included the western Gaza and expansion of the Israeli “buffer zone”, which runs through the territory. This will be aimed at giving Israel extra leverage in Hamas negotiations on a new ceasefire and hostage release.
Zeyev Elkin, a member of the Cabinet of Security, told the public TV company that “there is still an opportunity” for a new issue of hostages by the end of 13-16 Trump president, can go to the Middle East “if Hamas realizes that we are serious.”
During his visit to the Military -Marsh base on Sunday, Lieutenant Zamir told special forces that tens of thousands were summoned “to strengthen and expand the work in the newspaper.”
“We increase the pressure to bring our people home and victory over Hamas. We will work in additional areas and destroy all terrorist infrastructure – above and below the earth,” he said.
However, critics say this is an unsuccessful strategy, as none of the other hostages has been released from the moment of the offensive six weeks ago.
The hostage forum and the disappeared families representing the hostage relatives stated that the plan was a recognition by the government that it was a “choice of territories over the hostage” and that it was “against the will of more than 70% of people” in Israel.
An Israeli official said the security office also approved the majority of “the possibility of humanitarian distribution – if necessary – this will allow Hamas to take control of supplies and destroy their state capabilities.”
On Sunday, a group of humanitarian country (HCT), a forum that includes UN agencies, said Israeli officials seek to “close the existing assistance system”, and “we agreed to deliver deliveries through Israeli centers within the conditions established by Israeli military personnel.”
HCT warned that the plan would mean significant parts of the gas, including less mobile and most vulnerable people, will continue to go without supplies.
“This is contrary to the fundamental humanitarian principles and appears to be intended to strengthen control over elements that support life as a pressure tactics,” the statement reads.
“This is dangerous, the introduction of civilians into the militarized zones to collect rations, threatening lives, including humanitarian workers, with further consolidation of forced movement.”
On March 2, Israel disconnected all humanitarian aid supplies and other gas supplies, two weeks before restoring its offensive.
According to the UN, the population faces a new risk of hunger and malnutrition, because the warehouses are empty, the bakery closed, and the kitchen in the community is in a few days, from launching stocks.
The blockade also disconnected the necessary medicines, vaccines and medical equipment required by a congested gas health system.
The UN says Israel is obliged to ensure the supply of Gaza supplies in accordance with international legislation, almost all of which have been displaced. Israel claims to be in line with international law and lack of assistance.
The Israeli military launched a campaign to destroy Hamas in response to an unprecedented cross -border attack on October 7, 2023, which killed about 1,200 people and took 251 people hostage.
At least 52,567 people have been killed in Gaza ever since, including 2459 after the Israeli offensive, the Ministry of Health’s Health reports.
