Israeli strike at the Nasser Gaza Hospital kills official Hamas and Assistant

Israeli air strike in Gaza killed Senior leader Hamas and assistant on Sunday night, Hamas official said.

Ismail Barhum, head of the financial affairs of the group, was killed as a result of the strike in the hospital, the main medical facility in Han UNIS.

He was treated at the hospital after he was injured in air tickets four days ago, the official said.

Israeli military personnel said he impressed the key member of Hamas, who acted in the hospital joint after the “broad intelligence process” and said that “accurate ammunition” had been used to mitigate the damage.

The Ministry of Health Hamas said “many others”, including medical staff, were injured.

The hospital’s blow was evacuated after most of them were destroyed, the ministry said.

The BBC tested frames showed that people are trying to put out the fire after the strike.

Israel has repeatedly accused Hamas of using hospitals as storage for weapons and team centers that the group denies.

Another leader Hamas, Salah al-Bardavel, was killed by a separate Israeli air strike in Han UNIS on Sunday, BBC official said.

At least 30 people were killed in Han UNIS and Rafe as of Sunday morning before the hospital strike in the evening, the Ministry of Health reported.

On March 18, Israel restored its military campaign in Gaza, ending the ceasefire, which lasted almost two months. Since then, hundreds of people have been killed.

Israel has accused Hamas of deflection of a new US -expansion proposal. Hamas, in turn, accused Israel of refusing the initial transaction agreed in January.

The war was caused by Hamas’s attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, which resulted in about 1,200 people, mostly civilians, killed and 251 took the hostage.

Israel responded to the attack on October 7 with a military offensive in Gaza to destroy the Hamas, which killed more than 50,000, the Ministry of Health Hamas said.
