Israeli Prime Minister said his decision would allow a “minimum” amount of food in gas after 11 weeks blockade after pressure from the US Senate.
“We should not reach the hunger situation, both from a practical and diplomatic point of view,” Benjamin Netanyahu said in the video in response to criticism of moving to Israel.
He said food supplies would only continue until Israeli’s military and US companies have set up centers to distribute assistance on a plan supported by the United States.
Netanyahu also stated that Israeli troops “would take control of all areas of Gaza in the framework of the extended abusive in Hamas, that the Israeli military began on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Israeli air strikes were killed by at least 20 people on Monday, the first respondents and hospitals reported.
The Israeli military has stated that it has reached more than 160 goals over the past day.
He also ordered the evacuation of the southern city of Khan Unis and its eastern suburbs, warning the residents that the “unprecedented attack” would start there.
On March 2, Israel stopped all supplies of humanitarian aid and commercial gas supplies and resumed the military offensive in two weeks, completing a two -month ceasefire with Hamas.
It states that the steps had to be put pressure on the armed group to release the hostages who remain in the gas.
It is reported that the Israeli scorer and ground operations have killed more than 3000 people and moved 400,000 others, and the UN says the blockade caused a serious shortage of food, medicines and fuel.
Last week, the Ministry of Health Hamas reports that 57 children died of the consequences of malnutrition over the last 11 weeks, and the assessment as a result of the integrated classification of the food security phase (IPC) warned that half a million people – every fifth gas – faced hunger.
The UN stated that Israel was obliged to provide nutrition and medical facilities for the Gaza States in accordance with international law. But Israeli officials have repeatedly stated that there were not enough help, as thousands of cargo cargo cars entered the gas while stopping the fire and accused Hamas of theft of supplies.
But after pressure from its allies, the Israeli Prime Minister announced that “will allow the main amount of food to the population to make sure that the gas crisis will not appear in the gas sector.”
The key members of the cabinet strongly opposed this step. Among them were right-wing National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, who called it a “serious mistake” that “would wate Hamas and give it oxygen, and our hostages are in tunnels.”
In the video posted on Monday, Benjamin Netanyahu defended himself against criticism.
“From the beginning of the war, we said that in order to achieve victory – to defeat Hamas and release all our hostages, two missions that are intertwined – there is one necessary condition: we should not reach the situation of hunger, both from a practical and diplomatic point of view,” he said.
The Prime Minister said he blocked the supplies of assistance through the UN and other humanitarian organizations from the Hamas robbery, and that he is currently conducting a “other method” involving US companies that distribute Israeli Defense Forces (IDF).
However, he warned that the “red line” is approaching now, and “our best friends in the world, (US) senators I know as hot Israeli supporters, expressed concern about the coming hunger.
“They come to me and say it, ‘We provide you all the support to achieve victory … But there is one thing we can’t accept. We can’t handle hunger images. “
“And so, in order to achieve victory, we must somehow solve this problem. Until we set these distribution points, and until we build a sterile area under IDF control for distribution of food and medicines, we need to provide a minimum, main bridge – enough to prevent hunger,” he added.
The Israeli Army radio reported that nine trucks providing humanitarian aid, including baby food, were crossing the Gaza on Monday, but there was no immediate confirmation by Cogat, an Israeli military body controlling the crossing.
Meanwhile, the Office of Humanitarian Affairs Coordination (OCHA) said the Israeli authorities have turned to restricted assistance, and we are now discussing with them how it will happen on the ground. “
The UN and other assistance agencies insist that they will not cooperate with the Israeli aid plan, saying that this is contrary to fundamental humanitarian principles.
Netanyahu also stated that Israeli forces participated in “massive battles” in Gaza and succeeded.
“We are going to take control of all areas, that’s what we will do,” he said.
He said that the “main purpose” of the extended offensive was to defeat Hamas, and that this would lead to the release of 58 other hostages, up to 23 of which are allegedly alive.
While negotiators for Israel and Hamas remain in Qatar, both sides say that there was no breakthrough in the new negotiations to cease the fire and the hostage transaction.
On October 7, 2023, Israel launched a military campaign in Gaza in response to Hamas’s cross -border attack, which killed about 1,200 people and took 251 people hostage.
At least 53,475 people have been killed in Gaza since then, including 3340 after the Israeli offensive, the Ministry of Health of the territory reports.
