Israeli Prime Minister said there was a “uncertainty” about the state of three of the 24 hostages, which Hamas is allegedly alive in Gaza.
Benjamin Netanyahu said he knew “confidence” that 21 hostages were alive, but the status of “three” was unclear.
His comments appeared after US President Donald Trump said 24 hostages were alive a week ago, but this figure was 21. He expressed comments at the White House event on Tuesday and did not refer to the source and did not give more information.
The hostage and the missing families demanded information.
The forum also urged Netanyahu to stop its plans to expand Israel’s offensive in Gaza and instead agree with Hamas to return the other 59 live and dead hostages.
The press secretary called on the Prime Minister “to stop the war to return the last kidnper”, adding: “This is the most relevant and important national task.”
Speaking in the video on Wednesday after Trump’s remarks, Netanyahu said: “We know with confidence that 21 hostages are alive. There are three more about whom there is uncertainty about whether they are alive.”
Last week, Netanyahu stated that the rescue of hostages was a “very important purpose” of war, but “the highest goal is to achieve victory over our enemies.”
Israeli’s main military spokesman Briggi-General of Defrin contradicted the Prime Minister on Monday when he stated: “The purpose of the operation is to return our hostages, dismantling and decisive defeat of the Hamas regime.”
Despite this statement Israeli newspaper Haarets reports that this week the chief of staff of the military, Lieutenant Gen Ail Zamiri, presented the promotional orders who put the “Return of the hostage” of the lower part of the six -point listWith “Hamas” victory on top.
Israeli officials said the expanded offensive plans include enthusiasm for the entire territory, forcibly displacing the Palestinians to the South, as well as to distribute assistance with private companies, despite the UN protests and its humanitarian partners.
On October 7, 2023, about 1,200 people were killed, and another 251 people took the hostage under the direction of Hamas to Southern Israel, which caused the war.
Four more people, two dead, were already held in the gas in front of the conflict.
So far, Israel has provided the return of 196 hostages, 147 of them live, mostly through two temporary deals with the ceasefire with Hamas.
At least 52,653 people were killed in Gaza during the war, the Ministry of Health’s Health reports.
More than 2,500 have been killed since Israel had completed a two -month ceasefire regime on March 18 and resumed its offensive, saying he wanted to put pressure on Hamas to release the hostages.
For nine weeks, Israel also blocked all humanitarian aid supplies and other supplies, which, according to the UN, caused a serious lack of food, medicines and fuel.
