The crisis of injury from India’s Cricket team on England’s tour has had another worrying turn. A few hours after Ris Habh Pant was discarded for six weeks with a fracture of the finger he had during the fourth in Manchester on the fourth test, reports have revealed that his reported replacement, Ishan Kishan, is not completely in shape either.
Ishan Kishan, who was supposed to be elaborated after Panting forced to retire -on the 1st of the fourth test against England on the Old Trafford cricket field in Manchester, is still recovering and not recovering and not in full shape.

With Pant already outside and the availability of Kishan is uncertain, India is now facing a serious dilemma for maintenance of the wick, as they are trying to level the Manchester test series.
Without a goalkeeper available at this time, all eyes are now on whether the Indian selectors will announce a new replacement or play DHRUV Juryl on the rest of the ongoing tour of England. The situation is really difficult for the Indian Cricket team, as key players like Nitish Kumar Reddy, Akash Deep and Arshdeep Singh are already missing.
Ishan Kishan returns to style after BCCI punishment
In the meantime, Ishan Kishan’s trip over the last year has been full of ups and downs. In 2024, he lost his place on the BCCI Central contract list because he did not follow the board’s rule of playing a domestic cricket. But Ishan made a strong comeback with Jharkhand in the 2024-25 season, and his efforts paid off when he won his BCCI contract earlier this year.

Ishan is currently playing in Northamptonshire in the England Regional Championship division and has shown an impressive form with 87 and 77. Later this year, Wicketkeeper scored 354 runs in 14 games for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the IPL 2025.
He made headlines with an impressive debut for SRH, and broke his first century IPL in just 45 balls against the Rajasthan Royals. Sunrisers Hyderabad had spent 11.25 Crore INR to buy Ishan at the Mega auction, after his previous trajectory as one of the most expensive players in Mumbai Indians.

Speaking about his trip to the test cricket, the left batter played only two tests, and this was against the West Indies in 2023, and only scored 78 runs with a half century in his name. However, he created the story when hitting the faster double century to hatred, surpassing the record of Chris Gayle.
It arrived at 200 in just 126 balls and became the youngest player to get the feat. Ishan has represented India in 27 hatred and 32 T20IS so far and has accumulated 933 and 796 runs, respectively. He has played 60 first class games and has scored 3611 jharkhand with the help of eight hundred and 19 years old at an average of 39 and a strike rate of almost 70.
