The Fordo website is probably the most placed on the planet.
In 2009, Western intelligence first published that it contained a secret nuclear institution, and now the understanding of the damage made by American strikes will be vital for determining where the conflict goes on.
The assessment of the Defense Agency’s leak (DIA) suggested that the main components of Iran’s nuclear program were not destroyed, and the strikes only returned Iran’s efforts.
But this is only the original assessment and designated as “low confidence” – the tag comes because it is early days trying to understand what happened in a place that was intentionally hidden from prying eyes.
DIA is a Pentagon’s own agency specializing in military exploration to support operations. It collects a large amount of technical intelligence, but is different from other agencies such as the CIA.
“The final damage in the battle will take some time,” said General Chief Dan Kane directly. But what does it mean to destroy or damage the program and how do you learn?
Satellite images of holes and dust are little revealing what really happened underground. And they do not assume a large -scale sleep or mountain cave.
This is probably indicating that, despite the fact that the US used several bombs, Iranians used enhanced concrete enough to avoid their main hall and destroy machines inside. It was the first time these bombs were used promptly, adding uncertainty.
However, the cars that rotate at high speed to enrich Uranus, very sensitive, which means that the explosion probably smashed many of them, sending them from the axis.
Developing a clearer picture of damage will require other forms of intelligence – ranging from seismic detectors that can analyze the depth and magnitude of underground explosions (also used to understand earthquakes), sniff to look for radiation (saying that international inspectors who have not seen), and sensors, such as the leader and Using handles with an air ticket or a sprout to try and detect.
The informants and intercepted communications will also be vital, as they can disclose the Iranians who discuss the damage and its consequences. All this will be constantly updated to ensure the final assessment with a greater degree of trust.
And even if sites such as Fordo have caused serious damage and at the moment have inflicted unusable, according to US officials, it is different from the fact that this is the end of the overall Iran program. This is because it could be restored on new sites.
The truck park was seen in Ford before the attack, and the main issue is that they were moving and where it went.
All the signs are that Tehran translated its reserve of highly enriched uranium to another place. Another mountain known as “Pickaxe” attracted international attention, and Iran also moved to some centrifuges, although almost certainly insufficient to make progress at the speed he could do before the attack.
And even if you have a highly enriched uranium, you need to make more stages to create a bomb through weapons and the development of the delivery system. They require the level of extremely high scientific knowledge. And one of Israel’s most prominent actions at the beginning of the conflict was the murder of scientists involved in the program in the hope of continuing.
The attack certainly returned the Iranian program. But how much? Any answer depends on the development of what remains after the attacks, and will inevitably be an assessment rather than a rigid figure.
All this means that the work of the special services in an attempt to understand Iran’s nuclear program in the coming months will become even more intense. And if Tehran’s signs secretly restore the program or racing for a bomb, then the conflict will probably start again.
