It IPL 2025 opener between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) In Eden Gardens witnessed an unusual and emotional moment when an 18 -year -old fan, Rhtullundo Pakhira, breached security to get to know his idol, Shot kohli. The incident, which briefly interrupted the party, has provoked conversations on the devotion of fanatics and security measures in sporting events.
On March 22, on the 13th on RCB entries, Pakhira climbed the fence near the “G” block of the Eden Gardens and ran to the pitch. This happened shortly after Kohli had marked his half century, anchoring RCB’s persecution against KKR. The fan managed to evade security staff and arrived at Kohli, hugging him and falling to his feet with admiration. The game stopped for a few minutes, as security searched him from the pitch.
In a bewildering gesture, Kohli grabbed Pakhira, asked -his name and advised him to “flee quickly” before the security would intervene. Kohli also asked the guards to handle the situation gently, ensuring that no evil would occur to the young fan. This compound response showed Kohli’s understanding of his fans’ devotion.
“At the time I touched my feet, turned Kohli Sir, my name asked me and said, ‘Jaldi se Bhaag Jaa (flee quickly). He even asked the safety not to hit me.’ ‘ said the fan as he cited Times of India.
Above all, Pakhira was arrested by Kolkata police and taken to the Maidan police station. He was accused by virtue of Bharathia Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections (BNS) (assaulted or using a criminal force against a public official), 329 (3) (criminal offense) and 125 (reckless actions that jeopardize personal safety). In addition, he has been banned from entering Eden Gardens for the rest of the IPL season.
