Introductory statements start in New York

Harvey Weinstein’s prosecutors and lawyers issued applications on Wednesday in the “performance of the film producer”, and the prosecutor’s office accused him of using his power in Hollywood for sexual abuse and persecution of three women.

“The defendant wanted their bodies, and the more they resisted, the stronger he received,” said the Assistant Prosecutor Shannon Lucy on Wednesday.

The Court of Appeal overturned the preliminary conviction of Weinstein for his sex crimes in New York in April before he was charged with new sexual assault in the state in September.

During the first week of re -discrepancy, 12 jury – seven women and five men – were chosen for weighing Weinstein’s fate.

Weinstein has several medical conditions, including cancer and diabetes. In September, he was taken to a hospital for heart surgery and held at a safe hospital unit.

The judge approved the request of Vinstein’s lawyers to allow him to stay at the Belvo Hospital in Manhattan if he was not in court.

His lawyers complained that he was receiving bad treatment in non -hygienic conditions in a shameful prison institution on Ricars – which officials have long stated that they plan to close – although this step is delayed.

In total, Weinstein is accused of violating sexual acts, attacks and rapes of more than 100 women.

He is likely to spend the rest of his life in prison, as he will not start serving his 16-year-old California term.
