International Court of Equatorial Guinea in a dispute on Gabon Island

The United Nation Supreme Court sided with Equatorial Guinea in a row with Gabon in three islands in potentially rich oil waters.

Two Central African countries are arguing about the islands – Congo, Mbani and Cococysian – since the beginning of the 1970s.

The islands are virtually non -life, but are in the marine zone, which are considered a significant amount of hydrocarbons.

The International Court (CU) has ruled that the equatorial stamp claim – on the basis of the 1900 contract, which shares the French and Spanish colonial assets – must be honored.
