Hackers stole the personal information of the majority of the Allianz Life insurance company 1.4 million customers in North America, its mother’s company said.
“On July 16, 2025, the actor had a malicious threat gained access to the third CRM cloud system used by Allianz Life Strossum of North American (Allianz Life),” the BBC said in a statement.
The German maternal company added that the hackers “were able to obtain personal data identification related to most customers Allianz Life, financial professionals and select Allianz Life staff using social engineering technique.”
According to the company, the data violation was only related to the lives of Allianz.
The insurance giant disclosed data violations in a legal application to the Prosecutor General in the US state in Maine.
It did not specify how many people suffered.
In a statement, the insurance company said it had taken “immediate action” to contain violations and reported the FBI.
It states that “there was no evidence that Allianz Life Network or other systems of the company had access, including our policy administration system.”
Allianz – having more than 125 million customers worldwide – added that it was in the process of contact and assistance to people affected by data violations.
