Inside Craig Conover’s State of Mind After Splitting Paige DeSorbo

Craig Conover trying to live in the now after his split from Paige DeSorbosource only says Us Weekly.

“Craig has been in good spirits since announcing his split from Paige,” said the insider, noting that the Southern Charm A star has “a lot of friends rallying around him.”

While Conover, 35, was “inside upset” over the breakup, he “put on a brave face” during his New Year’s Eve celebrations and “had a lot of fun,” according to the source.

“He spent the last few days in Aspen, (Colorado), trying to get his mind off things,” adds the insider, sharing that for now Conover is “trying to be around positive and fun people.”

Outside of spending time with his inner circle, the Sewing Down South founder “is very focused on his businesses and that keeps him busy,” the source explains.

Conover currently runs two Sewing Down South locations – one in Charleston and one in Nashville – as well as working on Southern Charmco-hosting the “Pillows & Beer” podcast and opening By The Way restaurant with his friend Austen Kroll at the end of 2024.

The last few weeks have been a rollercoaster for Conoverwho recently shut down speculation that he and DeSorbo had split. “I don’t know where that came from, because we’re together, like, every week,” Conover said A! News at the time, confirms that he and the Summer House star, 32, “not broken up.”

Shortly after celebrating Christmas with their families, DeSorbo announced on Monday, December 30, that she and Conover had separated after three years of dating.

“Craig and I have decided not to be together anymore,” DeSorbo explained during his session and Hannah Berner“Giggly Squad” podcast. “I love him, I think he loves me. I think we will remain friends.”

She insisted, “No one did anything. It wasn’t a bad thing. I think we’re both being really mature and saying what we want and what we don’t want, and I think that’s incredibly powerful to be able to voice how you feel in real time and what you want for your future.”

Us confirming at the time that Conover and DeSorbo have different views on their future – Conover has voiced that in the past he wants children and to get marriedwhile DeSorbo said it he was in no rush to do either – was part of what led them to separate.

“Craig was ready for the next steps and had plans to propose to Paige. He was really pushing for the next steps and wanted to settle down with her,” something separate internal say only Us on Tuesday, December 31, explaining that the pair’s physical distance makes that next step even harder to make.

DeSorbo, who lives in New York Citydoesn’t want to move to Charleston, where Conover lives, according to the source. “Logistically, it was never going to work out in the long run,” the insider explained.

Although the source noted that “many of their friends are not surprised” by the breakup, “Everyone is sad for them.”

The split is still fresh for the Bravo personalities who became close after filming season 1 of Winter House in early 2021. They started dating that summer and fans got a glimpse of their romance on the two Southern Charm a Summer House over the last three years.

As for the next steps for Conover, the first insider says Us that he and DeSorbo “have not yet cut off all communication.”

The previous couple are handle the partition “is mature,” the source says, noting that Conover “said he definitely misses her” and that it’s been a “difficult emotional transition so far.”
