One of the most active volcanoes in Indonesia threw a huge ash cloud more than 11 kilometers into the sky on Tuesday after the officials issued the country’s top warning.
Mount Levatobi Laki-Laki, broke out at 17:35 local time (10:35 BST), the country’s volcanology agency reported, sending a huge cloud over Flores’s tourist island.
Around the Crater 1584 m (one mile) the exception zone was on the site of 1584 m. There were no immediate reports of the damage and the victim.
In November, the volcano broke out, killed by nine people and forcing thousands to escape. The ash cloud also forced the cancellation of flights.
The head of the Geology Agency Muhammad Vafid said no one should carry out any activities within 7 km from the eruption, and warns of the potential floods of Lahar – the type of dirt or debris of volcanic materials – when heavy rains come.
Residents were also urged to wear face masks to protect themselves from volcanic ash.
Meanwhile, the National Agency for Simplification of the Consequences of the Catastrophe stated that at least one village was evacuated, and several others outside the exception area reported rain.
The press secretary called on the residents around the volcano “to evacuate to safe places” as the jolts were still revealed, which testified to the current volcanic activity.
The last eruption of Lewotobi Laki-Laki occurred in May, when the authorities also raised the level to the most difficult.
Laki-lacquers, which means “man” in Indonesian, to derive from a more calm but higher 1.703 m named Perempuan, Indonesian word for “woman”.
