Currently, the Cricket Control Council in India (BCCI) is restructuring its selection panel, with two new selectors designating. Above all, the announcement of the Indian test workforce for the next western Indies series will be delayed, with the planned decision only in the final week of September.
India will host the western Indies for a series of two -party tests in October. It will be the first task of India’s red ball since Shubman Gill was appointed captain. The young workshop, who recently guided the team ahead of England, will direct the national side on the floor for the first time.
Ajit Agarkar will continue to be chairman of the BCCI Selection Committee, but two members of the current group are expected to be replaced, with Shiv Sundar Das, Subroto Bamerjee or Sridharan Sharath among those who probably mark.

The interview process for new selectors usually has about two weeks, which could delay the announcement of the workforce. Above all, the Selection Committee currently includes Agarkar, Das, Bamerjee, Ajay Rotra and Sharath.
“We still have a month left and, since this is a house series, it will be no problem. The ideal situation would be aboard the new selectors before announcing the tests. But if the process takes time, the current committee will announce the workforce in the second or third week,” an BCCI official told Insidesport.
India will return to the Cricket of the Red Ball in October for the two-game series against the West Indies, after its 2-2 draw in the five-game series against England.
The first game will be played from October 2 to 6 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, while the second will take place at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi from 10 to 14 October.
During the England tour, the selectors appointed a 21-member squad, including injury replacement, with 16 players with at least one game in the series. This gave selectors many options and actions to evaluate.
While several players impressed with their contributions, some did not get results. These subperformators now have the risk of dropping when the workforce is announced for the next western Indies series.
If the new group’s interview process is delayed due to the holiday month of September, the current committee can finish the squad in the third week. The team is expected to remain largely unaltered on the England tour.
Shreyas Iyer and Karun Nair is likely to cause big debates. The availability of Jasprit Bumrah will also be a conversation point, given its workload of the Asia Cup.
Nair, who retired after a stellar domestic season, with less performance in England, marking only a half century in eight entries on baptismal courts. Sarfaraz Khan and Devdutt Padikkal also expect opportunities.
Rishabh Pant continues to recover from a fractured foot and does not yet have to walk without distribution, making it doubtful for the West Indies series. DHRUV Juryl could become the main goalkeeper, while Ishan Kishan and N Jagadeesan remain contentious as a backup.
