England’s hopes to pursue a record target in the oval were reduced on the last day. The hosts suffered a collapse in the first session of the 5th, as the Indian rhythm duo, Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna, converted the game. India and England will share the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy after a 2-2 draw.

Shubman Gill, leading India for the first time in a series of tests, acknowledged the courage of Chris Woakes, who went out despite a dislocated shoulder. India players turned the ground in a vault, animated by their fans, with Siraj with the game’s ball and Gill driving from the front.
