May was an unexpected month to watch movies. From the latest – and possibly last – Mission: Impossible sequence to the excellent horror flic Bring her backFilm theaters were the place to be last month.
Streaming did not slack either, with guilty pleasures like Street Fear: Prom Queen And some of the prestige movies of 2024 are like The brutalist wrecking a mess on my social life.
NetflixThe June programming schedule is just as impressive, with so many films to watch until I have to cancel my marriage.
All banter aside, I have to be selective for what I’m watching, and this week, I chose too low a movie in 2012 that no one is talking about today – Hitchcock. Don’t be cheated-This is not a custom Womb-to-woman biopic. Instead, it is a fascinating portrait of an artist at a crossroads and creating one of the most influential films ever made.

That movie is PsychoWhich is so famous, everyone knows what happens in it even if they haven’t seen. In case you don’t know, here’s a quick plot summary: a woman steals cash from her work, flee to an isolated hotel in the desert, befriending the hotel owner, being stabbed to death in the shower and the murderer is revealed.

The filmmaker raises a great front, but in facing the hope of losing Alma forever, he is as scared as audience members he has been shocked for years.

Movie biopics like Hitchcock Pleasantly at a superficial level since you had a chance to see modern film stars playing older ones. But I think they are essential to what Gervasi is trying to say with this movie: that our Hitchcock hibes is ours, which is why Psycho still continues today in the public’s imagination.
With its scenes of voyeurism and murder and tips of necrophilia and incest, Psycho paint a non -fashionable photo of America at a time when a myth of John F. KennedyCamelot reigned supreme. That’s why she was so annoying, and why another movie – Hitchcock – He had to be done to tell us how revolutionary that picture was – and still.
