Ilona maher Very close to her mother and sisters – so much so that she called them after she lost her virginity in her 20s.
“I called Mum the day after I lost my virginity,” shared Ilona, 28, on an episode of her and sisters Olivia maher and Adrianna Maher’s “Maher’s house” Podcast, Wave original series. on Tuesday, March 25.
Olivia, 30, corrects Ilona calling her “sexual appearance,” adding, “you didn’t lose anything.”
The Olympic rugby player agreed with her, noting that before calling her mother, Mieneke maherShe hit up his sister Olivia’s daughter’s conversation to share the news.
“I was in a car park and we were like, ‘yes !!!!” Olivia remembered.
Ilona added that she remembered her “alive” before going on to share the story about how she lets her mother know over the phone for losing her virginity.

Dan Mullan/Getty Images“We had a family over, I was like, ‘Mum, I talked to you,” he explained. “It’s like, ‘Alright, I’ll go upstairs.’ She goes upstairs to the bathroom and I’m like, ‘Mum, I lost my virginity.’ And she was like, ‘Okay.’ “
The athlete went on to say that this was in her 20s and she remembers telling her mother that she was going to “need to arrange gyno for (she) at the moment” because she will “be quite busy from now on.”
“He received the news and was like, ‘Oh, okay. You know that is safe … and I’ll get that arranged for you,'” he remembered. “I guess she’s going back down to sit at the table with the family friends who are there. She’s quiet … like catatonic.”

Ilona was joking that her mother had “not slept a wink that night” while she was all in Giddy.
“It’s always been so. We can talk to her about almost anything to the point where I am like, ‘I probably won’t have shared that,'” he explained.
Although Ilona felt like she should not have revealed that information, her sisters seemed to agree that it was a good thing.
“She stepped up and helped and got the appointments for you,” noted Olivia before Adrianna, 25, jumped in, adding that her mother was “making sure her daughter was healthy.”
Ilona added “it is special to have that kind of relationship with your mother.”

The Olympiad is so close to her family that she inspired her to include her sisters in a new podcast “House of Maher,” where the trio will discuss Ilona’s life in the public eye in addition to athletes and pop culture.
“I have always believed in displaying as your full, authentic self whether that is on the rugby pitch, on social media, or now, in the podcast world,” Ilona told People in March. “And my Olivia and Adrianna sisters always bring the best, most authentic version of me – you wouldn’t believe how much we laughed at a set. This show is about just showing up like yourself and having fun doing it.”
