Grace Van Patten lives fully the title role

If anyone comes out of this show as a much larger star on the other side, it Tell me a lie‘ Grace Van Patten. It’s one thing to Knox to Reve for Patten Performanceand another to see for yourself. She incorporates Knox into all her eccentricity and naivety. Patten has to walk the slim line of being just strange enough that Italy police think she is a sociopath while also keeping the qualities that make the audience believe in her innocence.
That’s a quality that comes in handy during Patten’s portrait of the years Knox spent in prison. The vulnerability and despair in its movements and body language are very impressive. This performance may win the Emmy Patton Award next year, but her larger award will be all the roles she will be offered after this series.
The rest of the cast is very compelling

The former girlfriend of Knox, Raffaele Sollecito, sometimes gets lost in the very long shadow of his story. She is a media figure years after she was released, and is largely out of the public eye. That’s why it is so easy to forget that he was jailed for years too. Giuseppe de Domenico Does an excellent job with his portrayal of Sollecito, and comes away as an even more tragic figure than Knox.
Apart from Patten, the heart of this show belongs to Sharon Horgan and John Hoogenakker As Knox’s parents, Edda mellas and Curt Knox. They are the ones who fight for the release of Knox when dealing with their own complex emotions for the crisis in the ingestion of their family. Perhaps the most troubled performance in the show is Francesco AcquaroliTurn like Giuliano MigniniProsecutor of the Knox and Sollecito murder trial.
There do not appear to be any moments where Mignini suspects the case against the two young adults, and he is convinced that Kercher’s death is some kind of sick sexual game with Knox and Sollecito. He comes away as an obsession that he never can drop, even in the face of evidence that disproves him.

Although Knox has written two books about her life, this series represents her quest to provide her final grip on what she went through. Knox produced this series with Monica Lewinsky – A woman famous by her own scandal in the public eye. The final episode of the show is even cowrited by Knox.
By the end of the eight episodes of this show, there is little more ground for the series to cover about the cause. The finale feels definitive, and Knox’s last appeal to the Court of Public opinion.
