ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 revealed; Lord’s final designated final host

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the calendar of the next T20 World Cup of the ICC T20, which will be organized by England. According to the CPI, the tent tournament will begin on June 12, with the end of playing the Lord’s Cricket Ground on July 5.

A total of 12 teams will compete for the title during the Women’s T20 World Cup in England and Wales. Eight nations have already reached their points, while the remaining four will qualify by a qualifier scheduled for next year. Seven places were completed from a detailed selection process.

England hosts will kick off the Women’s T20 World Cup with the initial match against Sri Lanka in Edgbaston on June 12.

Australia, South -Africa, India, Pakistan and two teams that will advance from the global classification will be part of Group 1. England, defending the New Zealand champions, Sri Lanka, former Western Indies champions and two more qualifying teams will be in Group 2.

The T20 World Cup will be held for 24 days, with 33 games planned in seven places. Above all, the first two teams in each group will advance to the semifinals, which will be played in the Oval on June 30 and July 2. The tournament will conclude with the final in Lord’s on July 5.

Potential to really change the game: Nat Sciver-Brunt in the T20 T20 World Cup

England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt expressed his excitement ahead of the T20 Women’s World Cup. Sciver-Brunt added that he wants to play against the best teams in the world to get a global title.

“The World Cups are always special, but it is already different; it has the potential to really change the game,” said Nat Sciver-Brunt.

“It will be a huge time for our sport and a brilliant opportunity to inspire young people and captivate fans across the country. Playing the ground floor, for the biggest prize, against the best players in the world, it will be unforgettable. I can’t wait for it to be part of her.”
