In recent development, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has issued a warning to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to “violate multiple tournament rules” in the Asia Cup 2025. The ICC sent an email to the PCB on restricted areas before its Asia Cup clash with Arab Emirates.
The match between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates was delayed more than an hour at the Dubai International Stadium on September 17. In particular, the team refused to make the field in response to the ICC’s decision to retain the coincidence referee Andy Pycroft despite several PCB applications for its withdrawal.
Pakistan sent a letter to the ICC on the controversy of hits during his Asia Cup clash against India in Dubai. The PCB blamed Match Andy Pycroft’s referee and demanded his retirement from the referee, even threatening to remove from the tournament.

After the ICC rejected the application, the PCB wrote another letter on the eve of its game against the United Arab Emirates. On the day of the game, the players received the instruction to stay at the hotel as the PCB held a long meeting with President Mohsin Naqvi and the former heads of Najam Sethi and Ramiz Raja.
The PCB later published on social media that Pycroft had apologized to his camp. They also shared an X video showing Zimbabwe’s officer in a conversation with Captain Salman Ali Agha, Manager Naved Akram Cheema and coach Mike Hesson in the referee room, but the audio was silenced.
The CPI wrote the email to the PCB for the regulations of non -compliance within the players’ area and the officers of the match (PMOA). CEO Sanjog Gupta described repeated filming in restricted areas such as misconduct and a violation of the tournament protocol.
“The CEO of the ICC, Sanjog Gupta, wrote to the PCB stating that the Council has been guilty of repeated PMOA violations on the day of the party. The PCB receives the email,” a source of the tournament told PTI.
The PCB has not yet responded to an email sent on September 17, the day his party was delayed in an hour. After receiving another strong warning, it is not clear how the PCB will respond.
