Rohit Sharma Enters ICC Rankings:

Among the batsmen, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has paid the price for his horror show with the bat in Australia. The right-handed batsman missed the first Test in Perth before playing the next three Tests. He also decided not to play in the fifth and final Test in Sydney due to his poor form.

In three Tests, Rohit scored just 31 runs with a top score of 10. After the poor display, Rohit has dropped one place to 43rd in the ICC rankings for Test batsmen. His teammate and former India skipper Virat Kohli also remains outside the top 25 in the ICC rankings. Kohli, however, has moved up one place to 26th.

Pakistan’s Saud Shakeel has made a huge gain in the latest ICC rankings after his impressive display against West Indies in the first Test. The left-handed batsman scored 84 runs in the first innings and has climbed three places to eighth ahead of Steve Smith (9th) and Rishabh Pant (10th).

England star Joe Root currently tops the ICC rankings for Test batsmen with 895 rating points. He is followed by England team-mate Harry Brook (876) and New Zealand star Kane Williamson (867).

Among the bowlers, India’s pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah continues to lead the pack. With a total of 908 points in his career, Bumrah is at the top of the ICC rankings for Test players. He is followed by Australia’s Pat Cummins (841) and South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada (837).

Pakistan spinner Noman Ali has gained the rankings after taking six wickets against West Indies. He has entered the top 10. Teammate Sajid Khan has also improved his position, climbing 18 places to number 23.
