The CPI concluded its annual general meeting in Singapore this weekend and, as expected, made several significant decisions during the meeting. Between several options made, one was that England was chosen as hosts from the end of the next three WTCs until 2031.
Beside several decisions were made some monumental decisions on the inclusion of new members of the associate members of the ICC. At the same time, they have also decided to extend their support for the Afghanistan cricketers women, with the help of the BCCI, ECB and Cricket Australia.
India is missing; England acquires lodging rights
The BCCI (Board of Cricket Control in India) repeatedly requested to acquire the lodging rights for the ICC World Test Championship End. They requested a rotation system or to host finals in different countries in England.

The ICC has delivered the next three end of the WTC in 2027, 2029 and 2031 in England, while on the previous three occasions when the WTC finals were held in 2021, 2023 and 2025, England was the host.
The first final of the World Test Championship was held in 2021, which was originally scheduled for Lord, but ended up playing Southampton in closed doors due to Covid-19 Pandemic.
It was followed by the WTC finals of 2023, plays in the Oval and, finally, the final of 2025, which was held in Lord’s. The ECB’s consistent stakes gave rise to the ICC, believing that it would be the safest.
The ECB’s CEO welcomed the decision and praised the English cricket fans for having come true.
“Being awarded the next three finals was a testament to the passion of fans of this country for this bold format of the game and the willingness of supporters from all over the world to travel here for these games,” said Richard Gould.
Gould added: “The accommodation of these finals is a privilege and we hope to work with the ICC to take advantage of the success of previous editions.”
ICC adds two new nations as associated members
In addition to making the big decision, they have also decided to appoint two more teams as members associated with the ICC. ICC revealed that Timor-Leste and Zambia have joined as associate members.
This has been added to the whole of the ICC, and now it is 110, which reflects the slow and constant growth of Cricket. The US cricket, which has faced serious administrative problems, is also under scrutiny, and despite the fact that no actions are achieved, they have emphasized that reforms should be made.
The Afghanistan cricketer women to receive the ICC support
The Female Cricket players from Afghanistan, who are now living outside after the current rule in Afghanistan prevented them from playing Cricket, have received some support from the CPI.
In April, the ICC formed a special group to help these women players, who left the country and stay in other places. The ICC has been supported by BCCI, ECB and Cricket Australia, as they want to give those who have almost lost everything.
“The program aims to provide structured support through high -performance initiatives, home play opportunities and commitment in ICC ICC world events, including the ICC 2025 World Cuplet Cup in India and the Women T20 2026 ICC in England,” said the Global body for Cricket Administration, the ICC.
