Pep Guardiola certainly Surprise defeat by 2-0 against Tottenham Saturday.
City began the new Premier League season with an excellent 4-0 victory in Wolves last Saturday. However, they were well struck in their home game at home as goals by Brennan Johnson and Joao Palhinha, the latter after a huge mistake by goalkeeper James Trafford, he gave Tottenham a well -deserved victory.
Guardiola has suffered 10 defeats at the hands of Tottenham. An account only managed by Liverpool since he took over as head of the city in 2016.
The performance of the city could hardly contrast with the urgent screen in Molineux, but Guardiola expressed optimism despite the defeat.
“The game against Spurs this season was very accumulated and marker of the man as Brentford in the past,” said Guardiola.
“You have to play differently. We talked about it.
“We missed simple things. I never asked them to play exceptional things.
“The first was an effort to run and this was extraordinary as it has been for many years.
“I have no doubt. Last season, we didn’t get it, but in the training we were very good.
“At the pressure, we missed simple things and then we create enough possibilities, but it has happened, it is football.
“It’s just the second game. Last game against the wolves, everyone said it’s OK and I said it’s just a game and a lot will happen.
“I know how we are working and what players do. There are a lot of good things, but we have to improve.
“Step by step we will improve and make more connections.”
