“I escaped with a Zamzam camp with a baby in my arms and luggage on my head”

The 700,000 residents of the Sudan Camp were already among the most disadvantaged people in the world when they were attacked by paramilitary fighters last week.

Two decades of conflicts in the Darfur region, which intensified after the civil war throughout Sudan, two years ago, meant that they had already escaped from the houses to find security and shelter.

They gradually began to restore their lives in the supreme, the largest Sudan camp for internally displaced people.

But any sense of stability was subjected to when the camp was destroyed by intense soil and air attack.

Zamza attacked the rapid support forces (RSF) who are trying to seize the neighboring city of El Fasher from their rivals, the Sudan army.

RSF denied reports of atrocities in the suite, but confirmed that he had taken to camp.

Among the many thousands of Zamzza, 28-year-old Fat Mohammed, who was in the camp for three months.

She walked barefoot for four days before getting to Tavila.

“I applied one baby on my back, the other on my hands and luggage on my head,” she said the BBC.

She lost her husband during the chaos of the attack and still doesn’t know where he is.

The family attacked the thieves on a trip to Tavil, said Mrs. Mohammed, and they endured exhaustion, hunger and thirst.

Medical charity doctors without borders (MSF) say tens of thousands have escaped from Zamzam to Tavil after the attack.

Saady Adam left a camp with her children between two and five years after her improvised house was destroyed.

“They burned my house in the zammam, and they burned my sheep,” said Mr. Adam, who lived in the zasm for two months.

“Everything I belonged was burned. I had nothing left.”

Images shot by journalists who work on the BBC show thousands of internal displaced people who are on foot, truck and donkey.

These arrivals face overloaded facilities – MSF said more than 20,000 people have applied to the hospital in Tavile for two days.

“We see how many people suffered from bullets, it becomes ordinary,” said Main Nurse Typein.

“Yesterday it was a seven-month-old child who just looked and no longer cried-she had a bullet under her chin and shoulder.”

One patient in the hospital Tavil described that he was attacked in the zamm.

” We were six of us, we encountered RSF, “said Isa Abdullah.

“Three vehicles opened fire over us. They hit me on the head. The bullet came to my mouth. I’m fine but there are others in the worst state.”

Hussein Hamis was shot dead during the attack.

“After I was injured, I was gone,” he said.

Mr. Hamis managed to get to the neighboring hospital, despite his injury, but “he” did not find, all escaped. “

In the end, he managed to rise to Tavila. Like Mrs. Mohammed, he says he was robbed on the way.

RSF did not comment on these specific charges.

MSF said he received more than 170 people with gunshot and explosive injuries in Tavil, 40% of whom were women and girls.

“People tell us that many wounded and vulnerable people could not travel to Tavil and stayed behind. Almost everyone we talk to, said they lost at least one family member during the attack,” said Merion Ramstein, the MSF project coordinator in Tavil.

Zamzz was established in 2004 to accommodate internally displaced people who escape from ethnic violence in Darfur.

Its sunset would be strategically significant for RSF that last month Lost control over Sudan’s capital, Khartum.
