Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) Captain, Ajinkya Rahanemade a great comment on Venkatesh Iyer After the end of his campaign at IPL 2025.
Known for his quiet and gentle behavior, Rahane made the statement to the post-partite conference after a shredder of 110 at the hands of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) Sunday. Iyer was the third most expensive player this season, with a price of 23.75 Crore Inr.
As they ask, the expensive price may have affected the performance of the players, Rahane took the side of Iyer. He emphasized that the attitude of a player on the field is still consistent independently of his price. He said that the key factor is focused on controllable aspects of the game. Rahane expressed his confidence that Iyer kept his focus throughout the season.
“Someone will not doubly work harder if you have 20 more crore, or someone will not work less when you get one, two, three corners. Your attitude does not change on the field. As a player, you only have centers on the things of yours and I felt Venkatesh Iyer really focused on controllable things, he worked hard throughout the season.” Rahane stated.

Skipper KKR also said that all players can go through rough patches and can happen to anyone. He does not think that this is the price or even Iyer was thinking of the same. But it’s just one of this season.
“Well, it’s one of the stations that can happen with any player. I don’t think he was thinking about the price, but those of the season we had to do” Added.
The yyer’s Batting performance at IPL 2025 was not reduced to expectations. Despite being one of the most expensive players this season, he struggled to have a significant impact with the bat. His inconsistent form and his inability to turn great scores press his team, KKR. In 11 games he played, Iyer only managed to mark only 142 runs at an average of 20, including a half century. Fans and experts were waiting for better Iyer’s contributions, but his poor show highlighted the challenges of living to a high price in a competitive tournament like IPL.
