‘I didn’t go to court’: Haney denies filing a lawsuit against Garcia today

Devin Haney denied going to court today for his assault lawsuit against Ryan Garcia from their April 20 fight.

Demand reports

There was one report today, Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) had attended court in the morning to file a 12-page lawsuit alleging “battery and bodily harm” against superstar Ryan. However, Haney, 26, refuses to go to court.

Devin isn’t saying whether he plans to drop his lawsuit or stick it out until the end, hoping to satisfy him about what happened that night seven months ago at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

This is a night former two-division world champion Haney would rather forget. He took a real beating from Garcia, who dropped him three times and probably would have knocked him out if he had put his foot on the accelerator.

It seemed Ryan enjoyed the beating he inflicted on the young phenomenon, wanting to prolong the suffering as long as possible. He smiled as he beat the living daylights out of poor Haney in that fight. Towards the end of the fight, Garcia showed some compassion for Devin, looking at Bill and wishing he would throw in the towel to save his son.

The fans would obviously prefer Haney to focus on getting Garcia back and proving he’s better than him inside the ring rather than on the court. This is perceived as a weak move.

“Big news” joke.

Papa Haney, Bill, has been talking about it “Great News” he’s coming for Devin soon with his comeback fight. This will look bad if Haney’s next opponent is a ham and not a top 10 contender or a world champion. If they trot out some no-hoper like Devin’s opponent, Bill is going to look stupid standing there.

Haney has the hype to get a direct shot at one of the champions at 140 or 147 for his next fight. He doesn’t have to line up and win the title like most contenders, but his self-confidence may not allow him to take that risk. Garcia may have deteriorated with the three losses he scored that night 237 days ago on April 20.

“While they talk, we work. While they hesitate, we do. Made by himself. Self-paid We don’t answer to anyone. Big news coming soon,” Bill Haney told X, speaking of Devin.
