Hurricane Erin strengthened to the Hurricane Category 4 as it threatens to bring a life -threatening surf and thwart the currents to the US eastern coast.
The rains caused by the storm are already beginning to beat the southeastern Bahamas, as well as in the islands of the Turk and Kaikos, where a warning about a tropical thunderstorm is operating.
Although, it is expected, Erin will conclude in the islands, it is expected to rain up to six centimeters (15.2 cm) to the Turks and Kaikos and the Eastern Bahamas.
Erin, the first hurricane of the atlantic season of 2025, “exploded and intensified” on Saturday in a thunderstorm category 5 before a short -time losing strength.
More than 150,000 people were left without electricity in Puerto -Rica after heavy winds damaged the electricity line, the local energy company Luma reports.
But the firm said it was repairing the ambulance, and by the local time, 95% of customers worked as electricity on Sunday.
External rain strips of the hurricane began to influence the Bahamas, said the US Hurricane National Center (NHC).
While the thunderstorm is not expected directly in the islands, the risk management body urged residents to prepare.
Its director Aaron Sargent told the gods to check what shelters were closer to them, and to make sure they knew about alternative shelters when the first is filled.
“These storms are very unstable and can make sharp shifts,” he said.
The NHC’s forecast is that Erin’s core moved east of the Southeast Bahamas and moved between Bermuda and the US East until mid-week.
It also states that Erin will remain a “big and dangerous hurricane” so far.
Exterior shores – a line of islands off the coast of North Carolina – are already attracted to strong surfing and high wind.
The authorities there have ordered the mandatory evacuation of the Island of the Hotras, warning that the main highway that binds the hatert, with other islands, could become impassable.
Forecasters also warned of dangerous tides that could affect the entire East coast of the United States.
