Huge waves hit the coast of Peru

Three-quarters of all ports in Peru were closed due to huge waves crashing onto the coast.

Beaches are closed and fishing boats cannot go out to sea as a safety precaution.

According to the head of hydrography and navigation of the Peruvian Navy, Enrique Varea, the waves are caused by constant winds off the coast of the United States.
