Newcastle remains occupied in the transfer market after the signing of the Nick Woltemade club record, with the director Eddie Howe, who confirms that the Magpies are pressing to provide at least one more player before the transfer period on Monday at 7pm.
While Newcastle focuses on possible additions, various outings could also be on the cards. According to reports, Alexander Isak has expressed a desire to leave, attracting Liverpool’s interest, while you are expected that youngest members of the younger staff will be loaning.
Howe, however, is not directly engaged in Isak for his situation and focuses on strengthening the workforce in the last days of the window.
The Newcastle campaign has begun frustrating without a seated striker. The Magpies have collected only two points from their opening of three Premier League games, including 0-0 draws to Aston Villa and Leeds United, and a 3-2 defeat against Liverpool in St James Park.
The absence of consistent attack options has only intensified the speculation around Isak, who has not yet participated in this season.
In the striker’s situation, Howe stated, “I have no communication, no update for you. We are still looking for actively recruiting, but I don’t know if he has a relationship with Alex’s situation.”
In the last 48 hours of the window, Howe added, “I will be on my phone probably 24 hours a day. When you are in my position, you are not really communicating with -with clubs or players; you trust others for updates.
“I would like to bring another player to give us the strength and depth we need. I don’t know what this player is like and I will not give a position, but a more signator would be ideal for the squad.”
