Referees of the Premier League will give more penalties to celebrate the 2025-26 season, according to Howard Webb, the head of Howard Webb, the Match head of the Professional Party (PGMOL).
PGMOL will try to get off the box during the assembly pieces with stricter measures ahead of the new English flight season, which begins on Friday.
With headquarters of the Premier League captains, players and clubs, webb said there were “a few examples of players who clearly took away people”, adding that they were not penalized.
Webb said: “The feedback we had is that there are only a few examples of players who clearly attract people who affect their ability to move to the ball or not to penalize some clear extreme actions.
“They are the ones I hope we take. So, I would expect me to have been a few more penalties for the declaration of crimes than what we have seen this year.
“But not a great swing of the pendulum, because it is really difficult to hold for a period of time.”
The new orientation will allow officials, with the help of VAR, the scope to analyze possible retention incidents and to make a judgment based on criteria including: How long does a player have; the extent of the impact on their ability to move; the nature of the opponent’s efforts to prevent movement; And if both arms are used to withstand.
A repression of celebration is not a novel, as it has been promised earlier, but showing that it has any significant impact.
Webb, however, insists that this time it will be different.
“It does not want to be a campaign of six weeks, August and September, and then we forget everything,” he said.
“If we came in as a steam train and give all types of contact, I would tell you that it would be a six -week campaign.
“I would tell us very quickly that it facilitated what we do. We have to bring the game with us and we must be credible.”
The possibility of more penalties is granted after several other new rules that will come into force in the Premier League this season.
The goalkeepers will have a maximum of eight seconds to release the ball once they have obtained control. Overcoming the time limit will give rise to an opposition corner.
Another rule will see that only the captains are allowed to approach the referee to explain important decisions, while the unintended double-touch penalty scores will result in a results if the goal is scored, an indirect foul is granted if no goal is scored.
A double -touching score will be penalized with an indirect free kick, regardless of the result of the objectives.
The dropped ball restarts will go to the goalkeeper if the game stops while the ball inside the penalty area and, if it is outside the box, the team he had, or probably had possession.
Any accidental interference with the ball, such as someone on the touch line or the technical area, will give rise to an indirect free kick and no sanction.
An intentional interference would see the game restart with an indirect free kick or penalty, as well as proper disciplinary action.
