Meta says location sharing is off to default on Instagram map. Then follow concerns around safety, Instagram Head Adam Mossers Secured users that the feature is obtained, and noticed that some people are “confused” for how the function is working.

For example, people agreed the function and then seeing the located map with the information of the place of certain users. This is because the function automatically draws the place of place from recently or bobbine stories that include a marked place.

It is worth noting that this is not new, as instagram already had the tags visible to users in their view of the map. However, the new Instagram map feature makes this information much easier to access.
