Apple released it iOS 18.2 in October, more than a month after the technology company released it iOS 18.1. iOS 18.2 brings a few new ones Apple Intelligence functionality to some iPhones, but iOS 18 It also gives you more avenues to customize your iPhone. The operating system allows you to customize your lock screen and screen at homeand lets you turn your home screen apps into widgets and resize those widgets with ease.
In past iOS versions, you had to delete a widget if you didn’t like its size. After removing it, you have to go through the whole process of choosing the right size, adding it to your screen and then finding the right place for it. Now, you don’t need to do these extra steps and you can instantly resize your widget.

Here’s how you can add and resize your widgets from your home screen in iOS 18.
Long press on an app until a menu appears. Then, you will see some new tiled icons in the form of different widgets.
Some apps, like Weather, show four different size options: the app icon, a small tile, a longer tile and then a large tile that looks like an entire page. Other apps, such as Contacts, will only show the tile icon and another tile option. Tap the size widget you want to try and your app will expand on your home screen in real time. Some apps, like Messages, don’t have widgets so you won’t see these options.
Before iOS 18, you had to long press on your home screen, tap the plus (+) sign in the upper right corner of your screen and then look for the right widget. Now you can easily add widgets without searching.
You can also change the size of the widgets in the same way. Long press a widget until the menu appears, and then select the size of the widget you want to test.
If you’ve arranged your apps in a particular way around your home screen, adding or resizing widgets will likely disrupt your custom layout. Unfortunately, I haven’t found a way to lock in custom app layouts, so you may have to rearrange your apps after adding a widget or changing their size.
