Ryan Garcia’s father, Henry Garcia, has doubts about whether Devin Haney will do so through his fight against Jose Ramirez at the Fatal Fury Times event next month on May 2 in New York City.
Henry believes that Haney’s “Chin” failed him in his last fight against Ryan last April, and he thinks it is a possibility that can happen again when he faces the ex-heavy weight of WBC and WBA Light Ramirez (29-2, 18 ko) in his 12-round combat.
Despite the bad blood they have on Devin on their demand, Henry says he “hopes” that he has made “significant changes” in his game for Ramirez’s struggle. May 2 is a mini-backness, and Haney has to fight to face Ryan in October if he wins his fight against Rolando “Rolly” Romero on the card.
Although Haney makes changes in his game, his endorsement resistance will still be a continuous problem for him and it may be missing against Ramírez. This type is not the largest punch in the world, but he has been working on his power game, knowing how vulnerable Haney is on the floor above.

It does not seem good for Haney who will get Ramírez’s struggle without being cracked. He has been free to recover from his chilling confrontation against Ryan, but it may not be enough time.
“I have always seen Haney as a good fighter, but I always learned from the amateur days that he hit Ryan,” Henry said. “Therefore, if anyone hits it, there may be the same results. We hope you have made some significant changes because Ramírez, as far as I am feeling, is ready. It is good to go -and it is not a momentum as Duarte was not a momentum for Ryan. Someone must keep it focused.
“We know it is scheduled for October,” Henry Garcia said about the resuscitation between Ryan Garcia and Haney.
